Concept: | Anti-submarine frigates. The first series (Parchim-I) of 16 units was build for the naval forces of the former German Democratic Republic, weapon systems, engines and electronics were supplied by the Soviet Union. Later on a second series (Parchim-II) with modified weaponery was build for the Soviet Union.There have always been problems with the main engines, originally designed for aircraft use. |
